04/01/2026: The Next Evolution of Open Spatial Internet

Neil Trevett is Vice President of Developer Ecosystems at NVIDIA and the elected President of the Khronos Group, where he drives the adoption of open standards and developer technologies for 3D graphics, AI, and immersive media. Over twenty-five years at Khronos, Neil has helped initiate and nurture many widely adopted open standards, including glTF, OpenXR, OpenGL ES, Vulkan, WebGL, and Slang. Most recently, he founded and serves as President of the Metaverse Standards Forum, which has grown to over 2,600 member organizations.

The Khronos Group is an open, non-profit, member-driven consortium of over 150 industry-leading companies creating advanced, royalty-free, interoperability standards for 3D graphics, machine learning, spatial computing, augmented and virtual reality, and parallel computing. Khronos activities include ANARI, glTF, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenXR, Slang, SPIR-V, Vulkan, and WebGL.

The Metaverse Standards Forum is a non-profit consortium dedicated to fostering metaverse interoperability. Open to all organizations of any size, including standards organizations, companies, and universities, the Forum is committed to promoting open standards, collaboration, and best practices to pave the way for an open, inclusive, and accessible metaverse.
